About Me
Growing up in Blackpool, I always knew from a young age that I wanted to work within Television. From the age of 11, I have built up a relatively respectable career as an actor; including lead roles for CBBC's 'All At Sea' and other credits including Shameless, Doctors and Mike Leigh's 'Peterloo'. Discovering the endless possibilities whilst on set, I was determined to expand my knowledge and skillset to behind the camera. This then led me to where I am today, a student at the University of Salford studying Television and Radio Production.

This then sparked my interest for everything behind the lense. Whilst exploring this career path, I realised that my previous work history went hand in hand in both sectors of the industry. Aiding my creative ability and understanding.

Through my units at University, I realised my strengths lied within directing and producing. I have a particular desire to explore the areas of casting, directing, script supervising and producing.

I am determined, creative, organised and hard working.

Now my mission is to develop my skills, expand my knowledge and do everything I possibly can to reach my end goal.

Camera Trainee
Working as a camera trainee on a new music video, directed by Sean Ward, was extremely insightful. Learning the process of rigging the camera, video village and much more; Giving me a thorough understanding of camera settings, the correct ways of handling the kit and how to do so safely. It also gave me an invaluable view of how to shoot creatively and efficiently.
Production Trainee
Working on my first educational short film gave me extensive knowledge in multiple areas of a working production. Working closely with the producer, I helped generate production paperwork surrounding COVID-19, on set procedures and how to efficiently bring together a production as a whole. I also worked very closely with the director Jonny Dixon, who went through his planning process, the way top approach actors and how to get the most out every shot. This enabled me to think in more depth about what each shot tells the audience and how to plan ahead to ensure you get everything possible from each shot to produce the end result. I also assisted as a runner to aid the smooth running of the shoot. This may of included the basic duties but, I strived towards making it much more than that. From noting down what everyone drinks to ensure that everyone always had a drink and didn't always have to ask for one. Simple actions like this proved really effective and increased the moral of the crew as a whole. Truly an unforgettable experience.
Runner
Assisting Scream Management as a runner during photoshoots, casting and workshops gave me an insight into multiple areas. Duties included registering actors arrivals, assisting the actors with costume options and assisting the photographer during the shoot. With a wide range of duties, I always had something to do and it really highlighted how fast paced all aspects of the industry really can be. Other duties included answering the phone and dealing with general office duties. This was an incredible experience, but ultimately opened my eyes into the creativity and productivity in the casting and actor management sector. This is definitely encouraged me to pursue this sector more to explore the multitude of possibilities.
Skills
Professional Competencies

Editing
I have experience and knowledge of editing footage using Premiere Pro. This foundation knowledge and adaptable skills allow me to develop creative and exciting material for all occasions.
Negotiation
As part of my career history, as a sales negotiator for various estate agents; I have been extensively trained in financial negotiations. These sums are often of a very large amount at one time, with the aim of pleasing both the vendor and purchaser. This is a valuable transferable skill, which can be used across the board. A particular way this is beneficial for Television is when it comes to handling budgets effectively, banking, and negotiations of fees for locations, actors etc.

Microsoft Office
A thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including word and excel, is a key transferable skill for me. With knowledge of industry formats such as call sheets, shooting schedules and other paperwork; my knowledge of such software enables me to create these documents in line with industry formats.

The power of media is endless...
